Your Thought Life – Week 7

Would it be okay if I asked you a couple of questions? Are you actively aware of the thoughts that you allow to remain unchecked in your mind on a daily basis? Do you know that while you might not be able to control what pops into your mind, you definitely have control over what you allow to remain there?

Addressing this issue regarding your thought life is crucial in your quest for success. Most successful individuals already know that managing oneself is vitally important to attaining any worthwhile success. A key element in this process is learning how to control what you allow to remain in your mind. This is important because what you allow to remain in your mind, is usually what you end up thinking and meditating upon whether you realize it or not. Over a period of time, these thoughts will shape your beliefs, which in turn will dictate your actions, for better or for worse.

God even addressed this issue in Philippians 4:8 which says . . . “whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” So the kind of thoughts that you let ‘hang out’ in your mind, is vitally important. Are they positive and productive thoughts, or are they negative, apathetic, or self-defeating thoughts?

If you are in a network marketing business and desire success, but have yet to attain the success you truly desire, remember that managing yourself is key. If there are highly successful individuals in your company, what are they doing to achieve great success? They no doubt have the same comp plan and the same products or service. The variable in that equation would be . . . you! Either you need to increase your skills, or you have a personal growth issue. If you find that in your business, it is you stopping yourself . . . that you are in your own way, then you need to focus on personal growth issues, such as the one we are talking about regarding your thought life. Not to worry though, you can grow as you go. Success can be yours as you continue to work on yourself.

Here’s a little exercise to help you allow only positive and productive thoughts to remain in your mind. This exercise is done over a 7 day period. Beginning right now, whenever a negative thought pops into your head, replace it with a positive or productive thought. If you allow a negative thought to remain in your mind for longer than 7 seconds, then you must start your 7 day period over again. The goal is to go 7 days without letting a negative thought dwell in your mind longer than 7 seconds or you must begin again. Is this easy? No, not really, but the payoff is definitely worth it! Go ahead, just try it. For things to change, you must change. Invest a little time in yourself and you will reap the benefits in your business and in your life.

To your success,

Kathy
