Everyone knows you must have skills to succeed in whatever job or career you’ve chosen for yourself. Why is it then when it comes to network marketing, most people think if they just talk to enough people and have the right attitude that it will somehow all work out?
The truth is…97% of networkers have the 80/20 rule completely backwards. Why is this the case? It’s because they lack the specific skills needed to succeed in their business.
Everybody knows 2 things about networking and business
1. If we are going to make some money, then we need to talk to people.
2. Every business owner knows if they’re going to succeed, they need to learn some skills. Continue reading “Critical Skills for Networkers”
IT DRIVES ME NUTS
I promised Success Coach Kathy Zimmer that I’d limit myself to one rant a quarter. It’s July…YIPPEE! A new quarter and I get to go on a rant.
It just drives me nuts how far off base the collective consciousness is in network marketing today. How to sponsor more people is the calling card of the ‘magic system’ peddlers, fleecing the new, inexperienced or improperly trained reps of millions and millions and millions of dollars.
It’s not all their fault…it’s criminal, but it really takes 2 for the crime. I’m not mad at them, they’re not worth the price of my time. It’s really the companies, the MLM companies, who have led the flocks down the wrong path.
They don’t seem to know the business they’re in.

Do you ever feel like you’re the only one reading the posts on your blog? You know, the ones you spent a lot of time and effort on getting them just right? You’re even writing blogs to HELP people in some area, but most of the time, very few people are noticing what you’ve poured your heart into.
Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Many bloggers feel the same way. There are some simple strategies you can use to make your blog posts a lot more interesting and engaging to your readers, which will motivate them to return for more.
First of all, make sure you have an option on your site so people can easily opt-in to receive your posts by email. A good service to use is Google FeedBurner. Set it up to have just a small portion of your post come to their inbox, then people will have a reason to click-thru to your blog to read more. (This drives traffic to your site instead of stopping at their inbox). Continue reading “6 Simple Strategies for Writing Blogs That Get Read”
You may have heard it said many times in network marketing trainings that you can’t say the wrong thing to the right person, and you can’t say the right thing to the wrong person. This was one of the things I believed was true as I worked my business and tried to gain network marketing success . But why was it that I was always running into a lot more “wrong people” than I was “right people.” I found this quite frustrating to say the least.
One of the “strategies” I tried was the 3-foot rule….you know, if people are within 3 feet of you for more than 3 seconds, you throw up on them about your fabulous network marketing opportunity. Then I refined this strategy so if anyone was within 3 feet of me in some line or whatever, I would figure out without even talking to them that they were the “wrong person” so I wouldn’t need to waste any time talking to them. This saved me a lot of time….or so I thought. Continue reading “Finding the Right People for Network Marketing Success”
If you’re a networker who hasn’t had the success you KNOW you can have, now is the time to do something about it! It all comes down to skills. If you have the proper network marketing skills, you will succeed.
If you’ve been struggling in your networking business, you already know that it’s tough and not the way to go. You’ve probably already invested more money than you’ve earned, and talking to friends, relatives and co-workers has brought you little success.
Does any of this sound familiar?
If you find yourself on a plane, at the beach, or just lounging around the pool this summer, it’s the perfect time to enjoy some great books that will inspire you to improve yourself. Personal growth is key in attaining (and maintaining) success in your personal and professional life. Whether you’re a networker, an entrepreneur, or a business owner, you should be reading at least 10 pages of a good book daily. If this isn’t your habit yet, summer is a great time to begin. Here’s my list of 5 “must read” success books to help get you started.
The 4-Hour Work Week became an overnight success when it was first introduced because of the unconventional “mobile lifestyle” it recommended. The four sections—define, eliminate, automate, and liberate—show you how to streamline your life and your business. Now expanded and updated, it’s full of information on how to think like a true lifestyle entrepreneur.
Napoleon Hill was called upon by billionaire Andrew Carnegie to interview the most successful businessmen of their time and find out how they achieved great success. Hill discovered 13 common keys to success, all of which can be learned. (Good news for us!) Think and Grow Rich is one of the best-selling books of all time.

For those of you in networking businesses, summer usually means a decrease in sales and sign-ups due to people going on vacations or otherwise not focused on business. You can use an important principle as a successful empowerment strategy and grow your business during those times when others are seeing a decline.
The Pareto Principle
There is a principle out there called Pareto’s Principle, which has been known in the last decade as the 80/20 rule. There is a way to use this rule for successful empowerment in your business and grow your business during the summer, rather than see a decline in revenue. The 80/20 rule states that 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. Applied to business, this would equate to 80% of your sales come from 20% of your clients or 80% of your results come from 20% of your effort. You get the idea. In 1941, a business-management consultant named Joseph M. Juran named this principle after the Italian economist, Vilfredo Pareto, who observed in 1906 that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population. If you believe you can, you can.
Sounds simple, right?
The problem for most people is that it works just as simple in the reverse. If you don’t believe you can, you won’t do the activities you need to do to be successful, or do them consistently enough. Like it says in Proverbs 23:7 . . . as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
What you think about yourself is very important. Your thoughts are powerful. They are actually containers that carry either good things or bad things. Discard all thoughts and self-talk that aren’t productive towards your success. Feed your heart and mind with things that will make a positive change in your life.
Your belief shows up in your actions
If you find yourself stuck, making excuses or otherwise procrastinating, your belief in yourself to succeed is very small. Your belief always shows up in your actions, or inaction. You have the mindset of an amateur and little faith in yourself, if you’re not doing the activities you know you need to do to be successful. Work on believing in yourself and learn to develop the habits of a professional. Personal growth development should be ongoing in your journey towards success. Let’s talk about you and some leadership attributes. Are you already bored? Me too. That’s why this is not going to be one of “those” posts. They are all over the internet. Some of them are very good, and some aren’t. This one is about you, your ego, and your bank account. We will be focusing on network marketing, but these elements will be applicable to almost any business in which you’re trying to succeed, i.e. earning some serious money for a change.
The first thing you need to look at is yourself. Why? Because if you’re not earning what you want to be earning, it’s usually because you’re not managing yourself and your actions. It’s having a professional mindset vs. a poverty mindset. After an honest evaluation of yourself and your actions, if you’ve had a poverty mindset, you can change it in a New York minute. Make a decision. Do you want things to be different? Yes or No. If yes, then you need to do things differently and learn to manage yourself. Easier said then done? Probably, but remember this. Do things always have to be easy and risk-free before you can do them? Of course not. If you’re living paycheck to paycheck and have been in debt for some time, is that easy and without any risk? Continue reading “Leadership Attributes For Personal Empowerment — Week 23”

Change is a process, so expect to exercise a little patience as you go.
